Lares Trek Day 2

So after a restless sleep due to another cold night, we awoke to a hot breakfast of omelettes and panchuta (sweet bread) -yummy.

Wouldn´t you know it, but on our last walking day, it poured, I mean poured! We were supposed to walk 2 hours, stop for snacks then walk 2 more hours to our campsite for the night but instead, our fearless leader decided, due to the unrelenting rain, we would walk straight to the campsite!...holy cow..

I thought I had a rainproof jacket on, that´s all I´m going to say...needless to say, it was not and 5 layers of clothing (yes 5) were soaked through by the time we reached our campsite at noon. It really was just putting one step in front of the other, pants soaked, top layers soaked, shoes covered in mud....only thing that did not get soaked was my backpack..apparently the rain cover on there works! sigh

And, guess what...it stopped raining when we got there!!! argh

You´ll take comfort in the fact that our 3rd campsite was at a hot springs...yep..a nice hot hot hot springs.....ah did we ever enjoy that after our walk in the rain..

Another yummy meal, some chatting, tea time, chatting more, dinner time and off to bed for what would be my best night´s sleep in days...
