Today we took a 3 hour drive to see the wonderful Palouse Falls.

Selway Falls and bad acting

Today, we drove out to Selway Falls which is more of rushing water for white water rafting than actual falls but still a site to see.

We also discovered that
a) Neil is either really accident-prone or
b) he's just a really bad actor. :)

We're still not sure which is worse.

Stormy clouds make for great pictures

We enjoyed a quiet day at the ranch feeding the horses and watching the storms clouds roll in.

Wow..lightning really does strike twice..and three times..and four...

Well what a treat.

After having dinner at the Elk diner with Don, Marilyn, Jim and Susan, we arrived back at their house in time to witness a magnificent lightning storm!
Since they live near the mountains, it was quite a sight to see...

The best part: the lightning storm lasted 6 hours!.. So we turned off all the lights (since the storm was wreaking havoc with them anyway) and sat in the dark watching the room get lit up every few minutes by lightning...it was spectacular.

Don and Marilyn said they've never seen anything like that before. So we said...you're welcome!

Did the clock really say 4:00am????

Time zones really suck when you're travelling :)

So we left this afternoon to visit our dear friends Don and Marilyn who live in Grangeville, Idaho (please no potato jokes..I've heard enough!).

We left at 6:00pm Toronto time, arrived in Seattle at 11:10pm Toronto time (8:10pm local time) only to wait for our 1:00am Toronto time (10:00pm local time) flight to Lewiston. With me so far?

The plane was delayed 20 minutes due to a minor maintenance issue..uh hello..shouldn't we get on another plane then? Oh, no it's only minor, we can fly after the maintenance guy says ok...uh..ok.

So, it's an hour flight from Seattle to Lewiston but, wouldn't you know it, we had to make a stop on the way. Grr.. so we stopped to let people off at Moscow/Pullman to wait another 20 minutes for the maintenance guy to give us the ok to take off so that we could land in Lewiston literally 10 minutes later!
So an hour trip became two hours and 1:00am became 3:00am Toronto time (12:00am local time)...then a wait for the taxi cab, a short ride to the Holiday Inn, check in, elevator up and the clock did in fact say 4:00am Toronto time (1:00am local time) when we finally closed our eyes.

Time zones really suck when you're travelling :)
